All nine seasons are available to stream on Amazon Prime, but it’s unlikely any of us will have the time to revisit all 222 half-hours. Instead, what follows is a

James Corden Delivers Passionate Speech on Gun Control in the U.S.

James Corden isn’t really known for delivering passionate speeches without turning it into a joke, but this speech about gun control in the Us makes a lot of sense. People can condemn him as much as they want for not knowing the lay of the land in American, but he knows enough that mass shootings in schools is not a natural phenomenon. Throughout the world gun control has worked in just about every other country, but not America. Within the USA there have simply been too many mass shootings in the last few years to see that nothing has gotten

Kimmel Slams Donald Trump Jr., Conspiracy Theorists for Attacking Teenage Shooting Survivors — Watch
Jimmy Kimmel is calling out right-wing conspiracy theorists — as well as President Donald Trump’s “least favorite son” — for perpetuating actual fake news in the wake of last week’s horrific school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

“There are always crackpots in situations like this who come out of the woodwork with [this] irrational, paranoia-filled nonsense. It happened after Sandy Hook, too,” Kimmel said during Wednesday’s monologue. “The right-wing thrives on conspiracy theories: Global warming is a conspiracy, the Russia investigation is a conspiracy, Obama’s birth certificate was a conspiracy, and those are just the big ones. There are hundreds of others,

‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’ Review: Sean Bean’s Netflix Series Comes Roaring to Life After Three Years in Purgatory

‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’ Review: Sean Bean’s Netflix Series Comes Roaring to Life After Three Years in Purgatory
Much like the mysterious characters’ laborious attempts to create living beings from dead flesh, “The Frankenstein Chronicles” had a long journey to American audiences. Acquired by A&E in 2015 to bolster its fledgling scripted originals programming, the Sean Bean-starring period drama never made it to the Arts & Entertainment network. Despite success with “Bates Motel,” the cable network couldn’t break through the peak TV pack with anything other than reality television (long live “Storage Wars”), so it scrapped the written word and moved on from such “Chronicles.”

But “Frankenstein” refused to die. The first season was met with strong reviews in the United Kingdom, airing on ITV’s Encore station, and was renewed for a second six-episode run. That much content cannot be ignored in today’s buyer’s market, especially with Bean’s internationally known mug leading both seasons. In swooped the streaming giant, and another Netflix “original” was born.

Europe’s Unified Digital Market: Final Judgement Set in Motion

Berlin — They’re into the final straights. After nearly three years of often bitter confrontation between Europe’s industry and the European Commission, the E.U.’s executive arm, regarding the E.C.’s push for a unified digital market in Europe, the final countdown has formerly begun.

Europe’s film and TV industry – and Hollywood’s, which backs its European counterparts – is, moreover, still not certain of final victory.

The cause of contention remains the Commission’s proposal, made in September 2016, to amplify the so-called country of origin principle to online content. This would allow E.U. broadcasters to buy rights to movies and TV shows for pan-Europe transmission on their online catch-up and simulcast services, if these TV networks have cleared the rights in the country they broadcast in.

For the Commission, this would allow citizens in one E.U. country to access more movies and TV shows from another.

Telefonica Monetizes Movistar + Original Series Investment

Berlin — Telefonica, one of Europe’s biggest telecom companies, added a net 80,700 pay TV subscribers in the last quarter of 2017, Telefonica announced Thursday in a full-year results statement.

The figure marks the first financials published by the telecom after Telefonica pay TV unit, Movistar +, began to unleash its original series on the Spanish market: Fashion store series “Velvet Collection” on Sept. 22; “The Zone,” a post nuclear reactor meltdown murder mystery, on Oct. 27; and “Spanish Shame,” an excruciating Spanish couple comedy, on Nov. 3, “Spanish Shame” was also the first Movistar + series made available at its launch for binge viewing.

A full pay TV sub reaction to Movistar + series will not be fully known, even for its first shows, until results take in the Jan. 12 bow of “The Plague,” Movistar Plus’ biggest premium series bet to date, a serial murder mystery-thriller set in 1580 Seville, at the height of its imperial splendor and corruption, which cost about

‘28 Days Later’ Director Danny Boyle May Helm Next Bond Movie

There’s been a lot of talk of the next Bond movie lately, and it’s really no surprise as to why. After reinvigorating the franchise with Casino Royale before limping off into the cinematic sunset with the less-than-stellar Spectre, this feels like the end of an era. Much of the talent that has shaped the last decade of the iconic 007, including Bond actor Daniel Craig himself, is apparently packing it in, presenting the franchise’s studio with a rare opportunity to reinvent the character for a new, younger audience. A great deal of the subsequent discussions have revolved around the actor
